This month, as part of our Music lessons in Seomra Niamh, we have been busy composing our own songs. We used a combination of percussion instruments and body percussion to create our pieces. We then recorded our songs using ‘Graphic Notation’. This means that we recorded our music using visual symbols to represent each individual sound. We have been learning about ‘dynamics’ and ‘pitch’ and made sure this was reflected in our drawings and symbols.
We worked together in teams to compose our songs and to decide which pictures and symbols would best represent each sound. We then performed our songs to the class. Have a look at some of our finished graphic scores!
