The school recently held an art exhibition of all of the work from students in Croí, infants, 1st class and 2nd class. The pictures that were produced were beautiful and looked impressive in the frames. Thank you to all of the parents that supported the exhibition by attending and by also purchasing the pictures. the profits of the pictures will be used by the school to buy arts equipment. The school also purchased some of the pupils pictures which now proudly hang on the walls going up our stairs.
We have had a busy few weeks since our Spring break. 3 classes were grounded due to positive COVID tests. Thank you again for adhering to our protocols because it’s really important that we don’t get complaisant at this stage. Children should say at home if they have fever, sore throat or a new cough and advice sought from GP or HSE website. Remind them to sanitise as often as possible and to keep social distancing.
We would encourage you to keep a very close eye on your children’s interaction with social media. This has caused a number of problems in the last few weeks and the dangers cannot be underestimated. Remember mobile phones are not permitted in school and they will be confiscated if found.
There are lots of coats etc. unclaimed in our lost property department if you are missing anything. School life continues as normal as possible Intercultural Day is scheduled for Friday May 28th, details to follow. School tours will be on site this year or virtual (details to follow). We are planning for 6th class graduation at the moment, so if you wish to share ideas please let us know. It is a very important milestone for our 6th classes and students in Croí who are all going on to Post Primary. We are still looking for volunteers to help with gardening and painting, if you have time to spare. Creative Week is planned for the end of the month so we can indulge in developing our ”creative brains”. Active Week is also planned for June. Our return to school date for next year will be Thursday August 26th.
