Wow, a lot has been happening in Scoil Ghráinne recently! First of all, we had Maths Day on the 24th of April. Here are some of the children finding shapes and numbers on the yard. I have never seen anyone so happy to stand on the sad face before but it is a circle!
Then we had Art Week from the 11th to the 15th of May. The children had great fun drawing on the yard with chalk, looking at images of paintings by Dali and responding to them (they described them as “weird”, “scary”, “silly” and “creepy”!), as well as going to look at their very own art exhibition in the halla.
Also this term, the children in Seomra Oráiste have been taking our classroom teddy, Ted, on adventures at home. Every child gets a turn to take Ted home for two nights and then they must report back to the class what they did with Ted. Ted has had many adventures already – he has been swimming, jumping on the trampoline, visiting friends and eating lots of nice food! Ted is very excited to spend time with any of the boys and girls that he hasn’t visited yet!
