The school would like to extend a huge congratulations to the three quiz teams that took part in the Credit Union Schools Quiz on Monday 30th January. There were over 30 teams from schools in the locality participating. There were 12 rounds of some very challenging questions but one of our school quiz teams came in 1st place to claim the title this year with a very impressive 59 out of 72. Our other 2 teams did extremely well also, finishing very high on the score board. The team of Josh, Aaron, Claire and Hazel from 6th class were on the winning team. This is the second quiz won by the school this year. Well done to all of the other children on the teams who worked so hard for the competition. Mr. Byrne and Ms. Moloney are very proud of you (Jody -4th class, Ben-5th class, Shruthi, Daniel, Karolina, Neha, Promise and Jeffrey – 6th class). the winning team now go on to represent the school in more rounds of the Credit Union Quiz in March.
As part of our School Care programme, we are delighted to be in a position to offer young people who have experienced the death of a close relative, or been affected by parental separation or divorce the opportunity to participate in the Rainbows 9 week Peer support Programme. Expression of Interest letters were sent out to be returned by Friday 25th October. It will take place every Tuesday (2:30-3:30) for 9 weeks. We hope to start the programme on 12th November.
