We were very lucky in Seomra Setanta last week to have a special guest in to visit us. As it was Engineer’s Week, Mark O’Connor, a civil engineer who works at Dublin Airport, came in to speak to us.
We learned about different types of engineering such as civil, electrical, mechanical and chemical engineering. We also looked at pictures and videos of some of the projects that Mark has done, such as the Luas Cross City and repairs on the runway at Dublin Airport.
We worked like engineers to design a paper aeroplane and Mark gave us all an Engineer’s Ireland certificate. He inspired us to think more creatively for a better future. Maybe some of us will be engineers one day!
