Fifth class have been working very hard in the build-up to Halloween. We’ve been working on group projects about myths and legends. One myths we looked at was the Greek myth of Medusa, the tale of a young woman who had her hair turned to snakes. If anyone looked directly into her eyes, they were turned to stone! She was eventually beheaded by the warrior Persius…ouch! We also had a visit from our local community Garda who gave us a talk on safety over Halloween. We learned that many fireworks can be dangerous and can cause serious injury if not handled correctly. Fifth class would like to wish everyone a very happy and safe halloween!
