Scoil Ghráinne enters Yellow Flag Art Competition

As part of Scoil Ghráinne’s efforts to earn a Yellow Flag, Mr Condon’s 3rd class has written and performed an original song entitled ‘The Getting Along Song’. Original means that the song has never been heard before, and was written specially by the boys and girls in Seomra Aengus (with a little help from Mr. Condon’s guitar!).

The Yellow Flag Programme is an initiative designed to promote equality and diversity in primary and secondary schools. A Yellow Flag is awarded to schools that seek to create an environment that promotes and celebrates interculturalism.

Our song is going to be submitted to the Yellow Flag Art Competition. In order to submit our song, Ms. Gallagher had to video all the boys and girls from our class performing the song on stage. It was a little nerve wracking at first, but after a few ‘takes’, we had our recording. Ms. O’Connor’s 2nd class and Mr. McCarthy’s 4th class also recorded entries for the competition.

We wish everyone who’s participating the best luck with their entries!
