We have been very busy here in Scoil Ghrainne as you will see from our newsletter. We are focussing on our school rules over the past few weeks;
Be safe, Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Kind.
If we all remember these expectations , we will all get along better together. Talk about it at home and remind your children from time to time.
We are delighted to tell you that we have raised just over €5000 on our “Mad Hair Day” fundraiser for Noah . His family are very grateful for all the support and well wishes. We wish Noah well in the months ahead and we hope our donation will help in some way with the challenges ahead.
A big shout out to all our senior pupils who are getting used to wearing masks. This is just another way to help reduce the spread of the virus. We appreciate that it is difficult for everyone but we have to following protocols and symptomatic children must remain at home.
Our P.A. have booked the online pantomime again this year for all our students. We look forward to that next week before we break up for the winter holidays. The school calendars have been ordered and are on their way also. These funds go to the Parent’s Association. Congratulations to Claudia Gichuhi who has agreed to take on the role of chairperson for the P.A. She is a parent to one of our junior infant children . The P.A. is a very important group who are invaluable to the school .You will find them on facebook and remember they are always open to new members.
After the winter break we are asking all students to be vigilant with regard to school uniforms. It is important for them to learn and understand the importance of personal presentation and for them to develop a sense of belonging. Ties are available from the office and further information is available on our website. You can also order items through www.grantsclothing.ie.
Our Parent Teacher meetings are scheduled for the last week in January. It looks like they will be held over the phone but we will keep you posted .
Take care everybody,
