School activities 2018-2019

The children at all class levels are engaged at present in lots of fun and interesting projects. The teachers are delivering the curriculum in a variety of different ways. We at St. Maelruain’s welcome and encourage parents’ contributions to the learning process at school through a constructive and structured programme.

We aim to create a culture in which children are safe and happy in the school environment. St. Maelruain’s provides the students with a variety of learning opportunities and initiatives in the academic, cultural and sporting areas. We view parents and the wider school community as our partners in enabling our students to enjoy and fully participate in the learning process including the sporting, cultural and scientific initiatives hosted by our school.

Notice Board

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Summer camps finish today so the office will be closed over the coming 6 weeks.

I have been recruiting over the last few weeks but we will be having further interviews in August. We are not in a position yet to confirm class teachers for next year. A provisional list will be issued shortly but there will probably be inevitable changes needed before return to school. I am sorry to say that a number of staff members are leaving Scoil Ghrainne for relocation purposes, etc. We are sad to say goodbye to Mr Condon, Ms Gallagher, Ms McDaniel, Ms Mason, Ms Ní Mhaicín, Mr Lally and  Ms Wells. We also have 7 teachers on career break next year.

School reopens for junior infant children on August 31st and for all other children on September 1st. It is vital that your child attends school from the first day of term.

I hope all our children/families and staff enjoy the break and stay safe.

Kind regards,
Stacey McAuley
